Fjelstervang after school care Svalereden

Fjelstervang after school care Svalereden is a sanctuary after a long school day.

 Objectives for Fjelstervang SFO:

That the children become good at playing and develop through free play

  •  We will achieve this by:

  •  to give the children time and space for free play.

  •  that the children have opportunities for development both outside and inside.

  •  to make children curious, experimental and to give them motivation to strengthen their self-esteem and self-confidence.

  •  to train the children to use their imagination and creativity.

  • to give the children the opportunity for good experiences through play.

  • that children meet across ages and create new friendships and relationships.

The SFO started in 1989 with 22 children.

At first, we lived in an old teacher's residence close to the school and in 1996 we expanded with the residence next door.

In the year 2005, we moved to the old school, there is placed next to the School.

Administratively, we belong to Fjelstervang school and are a municipally run SFO under the Folkeskole Act of 1993 § 3 para. 4.

We are rated for 50 children + - 7 children. The care guarantee is from 0th to 3rd grade. If there is space and need, there may be an offer for children in 4th and 5th grade.

Svalereden's pedagogical values:

Everyday life must be governed by the child's own choice in a safe and creative environment with freedom of expression.

We allow the children to be self-managing and proactive in their own lives, and that they are allowed to be different. Everyday life must be a combination of both free and structured activities. Here we think of our focus area movement, however with the emphasis placed on the child's own initiative and choice for free play.

It is important to make the child's options for action visible. We give children visible boundaries for what is right and wrong as well as norms and values in their social interactions with each other.

The children must be involved in decision-making processes when relevant and experience taking responsibility for their own actions, learning to resolve conflicts and being responsible for each other.

We work with the appreciative and resource-focused approach to the children and in this way we support its development. The dialogue with the parents is thus an important tool in everyday life. That is why we give high priority to good and open parent collaboration. The dialogue with the child and the parents must be based on respect for each other.

The success criterion for us is happy children, and that parents / children are satisfied with our work.
