Fjelstervang Kindergarten and Nursery

Fjelstervang Kindergarten and Nursery is an age-integrated day care institution from 1999, with children aged 0-6 years, which is divided into one nursery group and two kindergarten groups. We are approx. 15 nursery children and approx. 30 kindergarten children. We are a versatile staff group and we regularly receive pedagogy students. As staff, we are very reflective of our pedagogical practice, which is based on the Day Care Act to create well-being, education, development and learning for all children. We work according to the new strengthened curriculum, RKSK joint Children and Youth Vision and we use among others PLC, pedagogical learning circles, as a working tool. We priorities open dialogue and see each other's differences as a strength. 

We are very aware that our pedagogical learning environments are supportive and inspiring in relation to what the children are interested in, with a good interaction between adult-initiating activities, spontaneous activities and child-initiating activities. We are discernable adults who work inclusively so that all children feel recognized, seen, heard and understood in the community with others. 

Our values ​​are:  

Well-being: Which, among other things, is a prerequisite for being able to learn. That we are present adults who strive to create a learning community that accommodates children's differences. We value time for your child highly. 

Learning: We motivate for learning, which i.a. happens in the good relationships when curiosity, cooperation and contemplation are at play. That we together with the children dare to wonder, ask questions and make mistakes, so that together we can become wiser about the task and life.  

Child perspective: We see the child, listen to the child and meet the child where it is. We are curious about what underlies the child's actions and experiences. We emphasize presence, security and community and focus on making children viable. We see your child at child height and we believe in the best in the child and that all children do the best in the situation.  

The kindergarten and nursery are located at the end of a quiet residential street, where we have 5000 m2 of beautiful playground to frolic on. Our large playground has swing areas, sandpits, hills, forest, playhouses and climbing frame, slide and campfire site. In the middle of the playground we have the "Children's Garden" which is a large sensory area, with berries and activities that challenge the children to go exploring and to taste. We have an area with fruit trees that gives a nice opportunity to have some good conversations and not least the joy of eating fruit from their own trees, while the children lie in the hammocks and look up at the treetops. Around the playground we have many bird houses, which are followed closely by our children. We are enjoying the outdoors very much and we make the time to explore, play, learn, fantasize and tumble in nature. We have a reading corner with sack pillows, where there is peace for contemplation. Our covered terrace, "Bamses Hule", invites to various activities, such as theater, drawing, painting etc. In the woods we have a cabin, that the preschool children use for preschool activities the last six months in kindergarten. 

We value good parental cooperation very highly. Parents are the ones who know the child best and we believe that through open dialogue and close cooperation, together we can give your child the best conditions for the child's development. We see the differences in the parent group as a strength in our collaboration.
